Is shy free?
Yes. Reading and posting work on a free tier with a daily post limit (the app shows how many you have left). shy Pro removes that cap and adds the extras below.
What is shy Pro?
shy Pro is an optional subscription that unlocks extra features in the app: unlimited daily posts, snake threads (chapter-style stories), post insights, photo posts, saving favourite posts, a custom flair colour, no ads, and early access toggles for new features.
Exact features can evolve; what you get always matches what the app shows at purchase time.
How do subscriptions and billing work?
Subscriptions are sold through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handles payment, renewal, and cancellation — manage or cancel from your store account settings.
Current plans and prices are shown in the app at checkout. Use Restore purchases in shy’s settings if you reinstall or change devices.
Refund requests follow each store’s rules; we don’t process card charges directly.
What are seeds?
Seeds are how people show appreciation for a confession. They’re free for everyone — tap to send a seed, like cheering someone on quietly.
More seeds help a post surface to more readers over time. Seeds are not a paid currency.
What are flares?
A flare is a boost you send to a post you want to lift up. Using a flare spends one charge from your flare balance.
Balances refill on a timer (about every 12 hours). On a free account you can hold up to 1 flare at cap; with shy Pro your cap is higher (up to 3) on the same rhythm.
Flares don’t reveal your identity — shy stays anonymous.
Can I buy more flares?
Yes. Optional flare packs are sold inside the app as one-time purchases (consumables). They add bonus flare charges on top of your timed balance.
They’re for use in shy only — not cash, not transferable, and not something you can resell.

Welcome to shy
By using shy you agree to these terms. shy is a platform for anonymous confessions — simple and honest.
What you can do
Post anonymous confessions, read others', and use shy for personal non-commercial expression.
What you cannot do
Do not post content that harasses, threatens, or targets individuals. No illegal content, others' personal data, or content promoting violence or hate. The shy app (listed on Google Play as shy) strictly prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sexual solicitation of minors, and any sexualization of children. Violations may result in removal, loss of access, and reports to authorities. See the Privacy Policy section “Child safety and CSAE” for our published standards and how to report.
Content
Confessions are anonymous. We may remove content violating these terms. We don't claim ownership of your confessions.
Uninstalling, new devices & your posts
Uninstalling the app or switching phones or devices does not automatically delete content you already shared on shy. If you want something removed, delete it yourself in the app before you lose access (for example, before uninstalling or if you will no longer use the same account).
We can't verify who posted what
We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, or similar identifiers to prove who wrote a specific post. Because of that, we usually cannot verify that you are the original author of a particular post after the fact. Do not rely on uninstalling the app to erase your published history.

Our promise: anonymity first
shy is built so you can speak without handing over email, phone, or similar contact details to tie posts to you.
Child safety and CSAE
The shy mobile application is the same product offered on Google Play under the name shy. We maintain zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). That includes, without limitation: any sexual depiction, solicitation, or endangerment of minors; grooming of minors; sharing links to or distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM); or any other conduct that sexually exploits children. Posting, requesting, offering, or facilitating CSAE or CSAM through shy is strictly prohibited.
When we become aware of CSAE or CSAM, we remove the content, preserve records as required by law, may terminate access to shy, and may report to law enforcement and, where applicable, to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or similar competent authorities. These standards apply to the shy app, this website, and any related services we operate.
To report suspected CSAE involving shy, email support@joinshy.app with the subject line CSAE report and include enough detail for us to investigate (for example, what you saw and approximately when). We handle such reports in line with applicable law and Google Play’s Child Safety Standards.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your email address, phone number, or similar identifiers for proving who wrote a specific confession. We don't use those to verify ownership of past posts.
Deleting your content
If you want something you shared removed, delete it in the app while you still have access. Uninstalling shy or changing devices does not automatically delete content you already published. If you uninstall or lose access first, we may be unable to connect a later request to specific posts.
Why we may not verify “that was my post”
Without email, phone, or comparable proof stored by design, we usually cannot confirm you were the author of a particular post after the fact.
What we don't do
No ad tracking, no selling your data for advertising, no ad profiling.

Essential-only where needed. No ad tracking cookies.
Children
shy is not for users under 13. The CSAE prohibitions in this Privacy Policy apply to all use of the service.
